SCOPE Accreditation of Courses, Sessions & Lectures

IASO encourage organisers hosting medical professional events, courses and meetings related to the management of obese and overweight patients, to apply for accredited through SCOPE.

Benefits of SCOPE accreditation

  • A maximum of 3 points can be gained by attending lectures/review sessions at international congresses.
  • A maximum of 4 points can be gained by attending any one meeting.
  • Participants must be able to prove that they attended the event, either through the registration list or by producing a certificate of attendance.

N.B. Only courses aimed at physicians are encouraged to apply for SCOPE accreditation at present.

The accreditation guidelines have been written in line with the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) of the Union of European Medical Societies (UEMS).
