SCOPE Accreditation of Courses, Sessions & Lectures

IASO encourage organisers hosting medical professional events, courses and meetings related to the management of obese and overweight patients, to apply for accredited through SCOPE.

Benefits of SCOPE accreditation

• Recognition for providing courses that have been scrutinised by an international panel of experts

• Feedback and support whilst hosting a SCOPE accredited event

• Certification of accreditation

• Allocation of SCOPE points allowing participants to collect SCOPE points and become recognised SCOPE members (For more details visit scope membership)

• Receive e-bulletins on latest developments about the SCOPE project.

• Become part of a growing global network of experts on obesity management

Number of points

• A maximum of 3 points can be gained by attending lectures/review sessions at international congresses.
• A maximum of 4 points can be gained by attending any one meeting.
• Participants must be able to prove that they attended the event, either through the registration list or by producing a certificate of attendance.

How much does it cost?

A completed credit/debit card form must be submitted at the same time as the application.

N.B. Only courses aimed at physicians are encouraged to apply for SCOPE accreditation at present.

The accreditation guidelines have been written in line with the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) of the Union of European Medical Societies (UEMS).
