SCOPE Membership - Continuing Medical Education

SCOPE Membership acknowledges medical professionals working with obese and overweight patients, who have undertaken continuing professional development (CPD) in the field of obesity management.

SCOPE membership is currently available for medical doctors in Europe who are looking to undertake training and continued professional development in the field of obesity management.

How to become a SCOPE Member

• Attend SCOPE accredited sessions to accrue 8 SCOPE points within a four year period
• Register online and pass the SCOPE online assessment

SCOPE Accredited sessions

Participants must be able to prove that they attended a SCOPE accredited event by producing the certificate of attendance. This will be verified against the sign sheets. View SCOPE accredited sessions.

The number of points allocated to a meeting/lecture/session is based on the length of time, as demonstrated below.

N.B. A maximum of 3 points can be gained by attending lectures at international congresses and a maximum of 4 points can be gained by attending any one meeting.

Online course and assessment

The assessment of the SCOPE online Course consists of 20 multiple choice questions, of which 75% must be answered correctly to gain SCOPE Membership. The assessment can be taken a multiple number of times, however you are required to read the online manual before you can take the assessment. Register today to take the online course.

What happens once I have completed the online assessment?

Successful completion of the online course and attendance at live SCOPE events will equip the professional with the knowledge to successfully manage obese and overweight patients. A certificate will be issued once you have successfully completed the online assessment. A second certificate will be issued for SCOPE membership after evidence has been obtained.
