Welcome to SCOPE - the Specialist Certification of Obesity

The Specialist Certification of Obesity Professional Education (SCOPE) programme aims to promote a coherent approach to the management of obese and overweight patients in order to improve standards of patient care. In this way, it represents a major inititiative in the international drive to tackle obesity.

The SCOPE online educational training course forms part of the educational strand of the overall programme. It is designed to complement existing CME-style training activities. By successfully completing the online course and attending SCOPE-accredited courses and conferences organised by your national association, you can achieve SCOPE Membership Status.

The SCOPE course extends well beyond a general introduction to obesity, and will enable clinicians to understand the origins and causes of obesity as well as dealing with specialised topics relating to its co-morbidities. All material presented throughout the course is evidence-based and fully referenced, with direct links to the PubMed database.
